- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or equivalent project management experience in a technology/media company.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or graduate degree.
- Experience in change management and a demonstrated track record of staying organized to deliver high quality outputs in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of the digital ads ecosystem.
- Understanding of ads business across Google's product suite (search, shopping, display, YouTube, apps, measurement, etc.) and key ads competition.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex business challenges.
- Cross-functional relationship management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire across all levels of the organization including senior executives.

As the Competitive Strategy Lead you will partner with stakeholders across the Global Business Organization (GBO) to design and scale competitive selling workflows that enable Google Ads’ global sales teams to win in a dynamic and crowded ads ecosystem. This role focuses on embedding competitive strategy into the sales motion—building the systems, processes, and enablement that turn insights into action at scale. By collaborating with go-to-market and product leaders, the team drives alignment on competitive positioning, informs commercialization strategy, and empowers sellers with the tools and tactics to differentiate Google in the field.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Influence and align resources and direction across teams, actively developing relationships with stakeholders across the product area and with cross-functional teams.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, leveraging comprehensive knowledge of your business area, internal systems, processes, and industry trends to inform decision-making and guide strategic initiatives.
- Build and evolve end-to-end workflows that translate competitive insights into scalable, repeatable sales motions.
- Collaborate with senior leaders in go-to-market, product, and strategy teams across regions to ensure competitive selling workflows are informed by business needs and consistently adopted by front line teams.
- Lead the design of scalable tools, frameworks, and workflows that enable sellers to win in competitive scenarios. Partner closely with front line teams to deeply understand, validate, and prioritize seller pain points—ensuring every process and resource addresses real-world challenges and empowers sellers effectively.
